We are seeking a strategic and highly collaborative executive as Vice President, Business Development to lead our Public Buildings sector. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the growth, management, and profitability of multiple studios across North America.
As Vice President, you will have overall accountability to drive business growth, cultivate existing client relationships and provide strategic guidance to multi-market sector Principals. Additionally, you will play a key role in shaping the annual Long-Range Plan and provide input to Marketing, Operating and Project Plans. Mentorship is vital to build high-performing teams. You will inspire and guide employees, oversee project success, conduct staff evaluations, and champion career development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Acts a single point of contact on large marketing efforts; leads significant proposal submission, presentations, contract negotiations and other business development activities
Participates in the evaluation of all project opportunities
Ensures all project opportunities support the growth and profitability of the market sectors and the organization
Set realistic and attainable goals for business development; monitors progress on a regular basis
Guides and supports multi-market sector Principals in enhancing and strengthening their business development activities
Integrates marketing and development efforts across multiple business units
Assume a liaison role with other groups to align standards, capabilities and strategic direction
Performs continual reviews and makes recommendations on business procedures and methods of practices
Monitors the competitive landscape to ensure in-depth knowledge of factors affecting the marketplace and develops action plans to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate the impact of risk on the business
Required Skills
Education: B.Arch or M.Arch
Knowledge: Architectural design and presentation; M&E and structural building systems, permit and building codes
Membership with a relevant professional association is an asset
Prior Experience in strategic development, business development, project management and client management is required
Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, flexibility and resourcefulness
