The Quality auditor has responsibility for a wide variety of quality functions that requires a thorough knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and practices. They will work with employees to produce quality products that meet or exceed the customer requirements.
Requirements:
Associates degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with basic mathematical skills. Experience or designation in quality manufacturing including inspection, auditing, and testing experience.
Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of Quality Assurance
ISO-9001/IATF-16949 Internal auditor training is required
Core Tools Awareness and Internal Auditing Certificates are required
Layered Process Auditing experience is an asset
Experience with painted product is an asset
Ability to distinguish colour is required
Ability to coordinate, prioritize and multitask
Ability to take initiative and recognize needs
Ability to work independently or in a team
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
Previous Quality Experience, with an ability to train others and learn new skills
Primary function is to support Manufacturing, Quality Engineering and In-coming Supplier Quality process
Responsibility:
Ensure hourly employees are trained and performing duties as called out in their work instructions
Makes decisions in regard to disposition of non-conforming material and ensure proper containment and follow up is done
Support the Safe Launch and rework activities through data evaluation, monitor trends, training development and conduct training when required.
Assist in the development of boundary samples for current and new product launches
Perform capability analysis, gauge R&R studies
Perform Quality, Process and Manufacturing audits, report results and assist teams in the development of QMS continuous improvement activities
Perform in-coming quality inspections for purchased components
Maintain control of non-conforming material process including hold area, rework product and material requiring safe launch inspection
Perform containment activities such as sorting as a result of customer concern including preparing quality alert document and developing the inspection criteria and deliver training when required
Perform SPC inspection where required by control plan
Use measuring or testing equipment as needed
Check/inspect manufactured parts or products for defects
Assist in the development and determination of part acceptance standards
Provide direction and assistance with regards to quality judgments and containment situations
Good computer skills specifically Microsoft Office
Shift flexibility (days, afternoons, midnights) and rotation. Able to work overtime when required
