Job Summary and Responsibilities
Manage attendance and adherence to working hours and approve overtime hours for their assigned work group
Drive operational excellence in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost
Proactively work to reduce safety risks while creating a safety-first culture
Ensure the quality of the work performed by their assigned work group as well as external contractors
Act as primary point of contact for Operations on mechanical maintenance issues
Collaborate with the Asset Maintenance Coordinator and Operations about planned maintenance activities
Effectively manage a team of 10-12 unionized and technical employees
Must be able to work shift work.
Requirements
Red Seal Journeyman, Engineering degree or diploma, coupled with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
3+ years’ experience in a maintenance supervisory role is preferred
Supervisory experience in a unionized environment, experience leading teams of 10+ technical trades persons
Must be proficient in blueprint and schematics reading
Understanding and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
In depth knowledge of hydraulic systems
Equipment functionality and alignment (laser and dial)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Equipment design experience, preferred
