The Avionics office in Marie-Curie, Montreal is Thales Group’s Centre of Competence for business and regional jet flight control systems is located at our Montreal – Marie Curie office. The team designs and integrates avionics suites, fly-by-wire flight control systems, SATCOM systems and other innovative concepts for the regional and business aircraft markets.

IT Technical Analyst

Ottawa-Full Time onsite

Position Summary

Thales is looking for an IT Technical Analyst who will analyze, diagnose and resolve complex end user problems and suggest scalable corrective solutions.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Role is expected to prepare, maintain and uphold logging and reporting procedures and monitor desktop operations via ticketing system.

• This role is expected to be proactive in managing the customer computing experience – must be able to execute plans and implement streamlined/automated, technical infrastructure projects to refresh supported systems. 

• This person will be expected to operate as first and second level support to end-users running workstations and laptops and extend/simplify remote support for global users.

• Must be able to analyze root cause problems and execute corrective action for consistently reliable computing experiences for our users and then coordinate with computer specialists to resolve technical problems.

• Must be able to document, execute, and maintain desktop security standards as per IT security policies and handle system administration of enterprise desktop asset management software tools. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidate will have at least an Associate’s degree in Information Technology with three of related experience and/or training; or 3 years of equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 

• A minimum of 1 years of service desk operations with proven experience in Windows technologies.

• The ability to perform Windows network administration tasks and a broad knowledge and understanding of the entire Windows work environment is required

• Demonstrated understanding of IT enterprise infrastructure such as networks, systems, telephony and storage and the interrelationships between the components

• Ability to travel to office and data center locations for on-site support, as needed

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
